Position Summary:
As a Millwright reporting to the Maintenance Manager on the day shift, you're responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical manufacturing equipment. Utilizing CMMS programs, you conduct preventive maintenance inspections and repairs, minimizing downtime. Adhering to health, safety, and compliance protocols is crucial. Collaborating with the maintenance team, you ensure efficient completion of daily work orders and other assigned duties.


Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for the installation, trouble shooting, modification, repair, testing, configuration, commissioning and maintenance of all mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical plant manufacturing equipment. 
  • Understanding of CMMS programs to conduct preventative maintenance inspections and related repairs on plant equipment as directed.
  • Inspecting and examining machinery and equipment to detect potential failures and eliminate unplanned downtime.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electromechanical production equipment.
  • Understand, observe and comply with company’s health and safety rules & regulations, lockout procedures and WHMIS guidelines. 
  • Work as an integral member of the maintenance / engineering team.
  • Complete daily maintenance work orders in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or as required by Maintenance Manager. 

 

Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • Industrial Mechanic / Millwright Certificate of Qualification (433a), under the Ontario Apprenticeship & Certification Act.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • To continue to upgrade skills as related to the job, by attending relevant seminars & courses
  • Competent skills in electrical/electronics
  • Familiarity of PLC, HMI, Drives and schematic reading would be an asset.
  • Ability to detect technical malfunctions, root cause and apply sound solutions for their repair.
  • Skilled and capable to disassemble & reassemble mechanical components.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use machine shop tools and equipment.
  • Perform routine welding and machining.
  • Effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines.
  • Ability to interpret AutoCAD drawings, blueprints and sketches.
  • Communicate effectively with strong verbal and written skills with members of maintenance team, supervisors and equipment operators. 
  • Basic computer skills and familiar with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Understanding of CMMS module of the IFS ERP system.
