Culture: Diversity and Inclusion/Mental Health Initiatives

Mattr promotes the development of its people and workforce through high quality training and skill development, continuous improvement programs and human resources and talent management practices.  Employees are expected to adhere to our Code of Conduct, Human Rights Statement, and Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement, which ensures people’s rights are respected and protected as we conduct our business activities and interactions.

Our Code of Conduct is a key component of our commitment to operating with the highest standards of business ethics and earning the trust of our stakeholders. It is a trusted resource for helping our employees regularly make safe and accurate business decisions. Our Code of Conduct is reviewed and signed by all employees when they commence employment and reconfirmed each year in writing.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

STRIVING TO BE THE BEST MATTR WE CAN BE.

We work to make Mattr a place where every employee, client and stakeholder feels respected and safe. We embrace that we come from:

  • DISTINCT Cultures and Communities
  • DIFFERENT Experiences and Abilities
  • DIVERSE Gender Identities and Relationships

Collectively, our unique life experiences and personalities make us stronger - we learn from each other and we grow with each other. We believe that our different perspectives help us make better decisions, be more creative and have more meaningful relationships. Our recruitment practices keep diversity, equity and inclusion top of mind.

BIAS-FREE HIRING PRACTICES We are committed to equal employment and that all individuals have the right to be free from discrimination or harassment based on factors including, but not limited to: age, ethnicity, religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation, and family status.

Mental Health

Mental well-being was a strong focus before the pandemic started. COVID-19 heightened the need to provide programs for employees. Programs developed to raise awareness targeted:

  • Fostering a supportive culture and open channels of communication
  • Offering regular virtual events centered on mental health and well-being
  • Providing education to expand knowledge of diverse mental health issues
  • Encouraging mindfulness

Talent Development

At Mattr, we encourage employee development and believe that there is no limit to learning. We offer exceptional learning opportunities, training programs, courses and special events. In addition to formal training, conferences and workshops, there are many informal learning opportunities on the job. As a learning organization, we are continually learning from experience, generating ideas and creating new and better strategies to support our dynamic workforce. Our strategy for managing talent focuses on identifying, assessing, developing and deploying talent, ensuring that our employees receive the kind of developmental opportunities they need to succeed in the organization.
