Project Scheduler

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Project Scheduler will be responsible for the development of comprehensive project schedules that capture sufficient details, logic, and resource tracking to successfully support project manager execution. The Project Scheduler will support project managers in the full project lifecycle planning, initiation, execution, monitoring and close-out of projects within the Composite Technologies business. Ensure all project schedules are integrated to capture resource utilization across projects and critical project relationships. She/he will partner with a project manager internal or external to the PMO in the execution of multi-disciplinary projects to support the business in achieving its objectives. She/he will build and update project schedules using Microsoft Project.). Develop simplified communication timelines for the purposes of higher-level business requirements. Support PMO Project managers to build and maintain various logs (action, risk, change), and take meeting minutes as required for project documentation. The position will be a part of the project management office (PMO) for Composite Technologies.

 

DUTIES:
A.    HSE Leadership

All employees are tasked with being HSE leaders within the organization, driving Mattr’s Incident & Injury Free (IIF) expectations, with focus on identifying and eliminating risks. Ensure HSE is prioritized above all the in execution of projects and hold colleagues and 3rd parties accountable to do the same. An active participant in building and sustaining the HSE culture at Mattr. 

B.    Project Scheduling
Build and maintain project schedules in MS Project, for a variety of projects.  Capture key project milestones within schedule and track progress relative to milestones.Identify schedule logic, resource requirements, and critical path to ensure an achievable project schedule. Participate in all project progress meetings (weekly/bi-weekly) and follow up individually with project team members as required to ensure schedule is kept up to date and team is held accountable to timelines. 
 

C.    Project Documentation
Support the updates to the project risk log, action log and change log, ensuring project manager is made aware of all applicable escalations. 
Take and distribute meeting minutes of project meetings as required. 
With the project analyst, support the management of a file structure and central storage of all project related documents. 

D.    Project Reports
Support the preparation reports as required to ensure progress, risks and challenges are communicated frequently and effectively. 

E.    Governance and Compliance
Ensure all deviations from project key performance indicators (KPIs) and identified risks are communicated effectively to the project manage. Where applicable, utilize standardized tools/formats for logs and schedules. 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3-5 years of project scheduling, project coordinating or project management experience
  • Knowledge and experience with project management in diverse settings utilizing project management principles, processes, and solutions.  
  • Minimum High School Education. Community College or Bachelor’s degree is a plus
  • MS Project Power User certificate or equivalent is a plus 
  • Recognized Project Management Certification is a plus (CAPM or PMP)
  • Fluent in English.
  • MS Office Suite power user, particularly MS Project and MS Teams.
  • Ability to work and collaborate effectively with diverse external and internal stakeholders to deliver planned outcomes.
