POSITION SUMMARY:
The Process Engineer will support continuous improvement projects and product process development activities at the DSG Canusa Fairfield Site. The Process Engineer is a subject matter expert (SME) as it relates to process engineering and is accountable for supporting process improvement initiatives and delivering world class process design and improvements to support the business. This role will address ensuring a safe and healthy workplace for employees as well as delivering new process introductions, operational cost savings, and capacity improvements. Process Engineers also support the implementation of the Mattr Management System (MMS) through continuous improvement activities, increasing plant and office process efficiency, optimizing resource utilization, and eliminating process variability and wastes.
DUTIES:
1. Support daily operations and live production at the DSG Canusa Fairfield site. Provide technical support and direction to facility supervisors, line operators, and the maintenance team to ensure equipment and production runs smoothly (i.e., selection and validation of tooling); perform efficiently, applying appropriate problem-solving and troubleshooting techniques.
2. Develop, document, and execute process improvement and process development projects to increase line efficiencies, reduce cost variances, increase product margins, and improve quote competitiveness.
3. Provide process engineering support to product engineering, product development, product management, and quality control in the development of new products; assist with the maintenance of customer relationships while ensuring company quality standards. Apply data driven problem solving techniques (i.e., CAD) where required.
4. Support embedded technical knowledge training by peer training and mentored training
5. Environmental Health and Safety Initiatives
6. Other duties as directed.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Holding Bachelor’s degree preferrably in Industrial / Mechanical Engineering
• 1 to 2 years-project coordination/management
• 1 to 2 years CAD experience
• 1 to 2 years experience in manufacturing systems and process improvement techniques
• 1 to 2 years experience in Lean Six Sigma (process mapping, root cause analysis and problem-solving tools (8D, A3, 5Ys, Fishbone diagrams), DOE, Capability Studies
• 1 to 2 years experience in quality management systems experience (ISO, IATF- Control plans, PFMEAs)
• Minimum 1 years experience in Manufacturing
• A high level of problem-solving ability – resourceful, adaptable, and flexible when dealing with ambiguous situations.
• A high level of mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills – willing and able to directly work on and operate production equipment.
• An intermediate level of technical acumen and the ability to understand complex engineering, material science, and scientific relationships.
• Technological aptitude to understand process tooling, equipment, instrumentation, and data acquisition.
• Highly analytical and capable of analyzing complex datasets.
• Intermediate project management skills (i.e., time management, prioritize and organize travel and objectives)
• Ability to lead and influence others without direct reporting responsibility (i.e., change management and strong interpersonal skills)
• Ability to communicate with a global network with organizational and cultural sensitivity.
• Strong presentation and reporting skills.
