Manufacturing Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manufacturing Coordinator is accountable for full project lifecycle planning, initiation, execution, monitoring, and close-out of projects within the Composite Technologies business. She/he will partner with a team or subject matter expert (SME) to lead the execution of ETO Tank Setup to support the business in achieving its objectives. This position will require collaboration with functions such as Supply Chain, Quality, Product Engineering, Parts Coordinator, Sales Support, Design Support and other functional groups as appropriate. She/he will apply Project Management best practices directly to formulate comprehensive project plans, manage action logs, risk logs and change logs, ensuring projects are correctly scoped, appropriately resourced, and delivered on time and on budget.
DUTIES:
A. HSE Leadership
All employees are tasked with being HSE leaders within the organization, driving Mattr’s Incident & Injury Free (IIF) expectations, with focus on identifying and eliminating risk. Ensure HSE is prioritized above all the in execution of projects and hold colleagues and 3rd parties accountable to do the same. An active participant in building and sustaining the HSE culture at Mattr.
B. Project Planning and Execution
Responsible for ETO Tank Drawing review, planning, execution, monitoring/control, and project closing for projects within the Composite Technologies segment. Leverage subject matter experts and a multi-disciplinary team, to execute on the project scope.
Define clear scope of project, identify project execution team and stakeholders, build project schedule and maintain logs. Ensure project is maintained in control by applying project management tools and best practices. Investigate variances/gaps and implement mitigation measures to minimize impact to customer and/or planned objectives. Escalates out of control conditions and implements recovery plans with urgency to enhance outcomes.
With the help of Parts Coordinator, build and maintain a project schedule. Define key project milestones using these milestones to track and report on progress for upper management. Hold project progress meetings (weekly/bi-weekly) to ensure active involvement of project team and awareness of key stakeholders. Prepare reports as required to ensure progress, risks and challenges are communicated frequently and effectively.
Actively communicates with business leadership on developments, escalations and risk management.
C. ERP Analysis
Assist with support to Inventory Management and Operations teams as required. Support the review of department processes and ERP functions, in conjunction with continuous improvement projects.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Manufacturing/ Industrial Engineering
- Previous experience managing & coordinating physical projects & orders within manufacturing.
- Holding Bachelor's degree - preferred
- Holding Recognized Project Management Certification is a plus (PMP)
- Experience & knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and best practices (ideally IFS) is an asset.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office – with focus on Excel)
- Fluent in English.
- Strong project management, business acumen, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to work and collaborate effectively with diverse internal stakeholders to deliver planned outcomes.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing operations and methodologies is an asset.
- Continuous improvement mindset which aims to challenge status quo.
