Position Summary

 

Reporting to the Manager Human Resources, the HRBP will support the execution of human resource plans and objectives for selected US production locations. You will work closely with the management team of your assigned areas. Accountabilities will include implementing Human Resources programs and initiatives and developing strategies and tactics to address specific Human Resources issues. Core functions will include consulting with respect to employee relations, dispute resolution, metrics, labor forecasting, succession planning, organizational design and market-based compensation systems. This position will be required to travel up to 40% of the time.

 

Duties & Accountabilities

  • Providing quality advice and interpretation to front line managers related to state employment legislation and Human Resources policies.
  • Advising, consulting, and/or coaching in employee relations matters including performance management, workplace investigations or disciplinary actions. Facilitating the resolution of complex workplace disputes. 
  • Facilitating resolution of employee behavioral concerns such as progressive discipline/corrective action, conflict resolution, and policy violations by working with managers and employees.
  • Providing coaching and support to management with regard to recruitment and selection for both hourly and salaried staff.
  • Providing guidance and support with regard to compensation decisions in alignment with company guidelines.
  • Implementation and administration of employee programs to ensure program effectiveness and overall accountability from all stakeholders (e.g. onboarding, talent development).
  • Providing consultative advice and guidance to business units in the following areas:
    • Workforce planning
    • Succession planning
    • Identifying high potential employees, and developing suitable career paths and employee development plans
    • Conducting exit interviews and providing appropriate feedback to clients
  • Developing tactics and strategies to address specific Human Resources issues within client business units (e.g.: recruitment, retention, labor trends, etc.).
  • Providing advice and assistance in the planning and implementation of business unit/client area change.
  • Providing coaching, skill development, and training to business unit management staff.
  • Monitoring, analyzing, and interpreting business unit Human Resources metrics.
  • Leading and/or assisting with special projects and initiatives as required.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Human Resources generalist role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources or other related field.
  • Working knowledge of US labor legislation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills including HRIS (SuccessFactors would be an asset) and MS Office
  • Ability to develop positive working relationships with customers and coworkers.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to travel within North America up to 40% of the time.
  • The following are considered assets for this position:
    • Experience working in a large multi-site location.
    • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
    • SHRM-CP or progression towards SHRM designation, or similar certification.
