People Operations Coordinator

Summary

Reporting to the Senior HR Manager – Xerxes, the People Operations Coordinator plays a critical role in keeping people operations running smoothly at the plant level. This role delivers frontline HR and administrative support while partnering closely with HR Business Partners across the U.S. and Canada to execute transactional HR processes accurately and on time. The impact of this role is felt by daily supporting employees, ensuring compliant onboarding, and maintaining reliable HR operations that enable the business to perform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for visitors and employees, answering general HR questions related to benefits, vacation, attendance, payroll, and policies
  • Provide operational and administrative support, including processing incoming mail, coordinating local events, maintaining office supplies, and attending daily management meetings
  • Support payroll processing and employee attendance tracking
  • Facilitate HR onboarding sessions for new hires, including I-9 verification (U.S. only)
  • Assist new employees with email authentication and access to HR systems, LMS, and related tools
  • Create HR letters, process special pay requests, reset system passwords, and maintain accurate employee files
  • Provide LMS support and escalate HR issues to HR Business Partners as required
  • Actively participate in health, safety, and environmental activities by attending safety corners, completing hazard IDs and ASAs, and promoting a strong safety culture
  • Communicate effectively with plant leadership, production employees, HR Business Partners, and the Senior HR Manager to ensure consistent HR support and information flow

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant HR or administrative experience
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Human Resources or equivalent experience
  • Strong MS Office skills are required
  • Strong communication skills to support employees and collaborate with internal stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple transactional HR activities with accuracy and confidentiality
  • SAP, Oracle based systems and payroll experience is nice to have
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is preferred
