Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Inside Sales Representative to drive sales growth and deliver exceptional customer service. In this role, you will partner closely with the Regional Sales Manager and serve as a key point of contact for customers, managing the sales process from initial inquiry through order fulfillment. The ideal candidate is proactive and organized, excels at building customer relationships, and can effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet customer needs and achieve regional sales targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Regional Sales Manager to develop and execute strategies that meet and exceed sales targets for the assigned region.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, gaining a deep understanding of each account’s needs and opportunities for growth.
- Serve as the primary contact for customers in your territory.
- Respond promptly to incoming inquiries—providing technical information, product recommendations, and accurate pricing quotes in a professional manner.
- Follow up with prospective customers to answer questions and guide them through the decision-making process.
- Manage the end-to-end quoting process.
- Prepare detailed quotes based on customer requirements, then diligently follow up addressing any concerns, negotiate terms if needed, and drive the closure of sales opportunities. Once a quote is accepted, seamlessly convert it to an order.
- Review and process customer purchase orders in the ERP system (e.g., IFS).
- Verify all details (product specifications, quantities, pricing, lead times, shipping instructions, and special requirements) to ensure accuracy.
- Coordinate with logistics and scheduling to confirm delivery dates and manage lead times.
- Provide timely and proactive updates to customers about their open orders.
- Communicate any changes in lead times or delivery schedules and ensure customers receive all promised documentation or status reports.
- Act as an advocate for the customer, ensuring they remain informed and satisfied at every stage of the order process.
- Work closely with internal teams to resolve any issues that arise. This includes collaborating with Engineering on technical questions, Quality Control on product issues, Planning on inventory or production scheduling, and Production/Operations on expediting orders.
- Initiate and coordinate requests for order expediting, handle customer complaints or returns, and pursue custom solutions when needed – all with a focus on providing an exceptional customer experience.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of all customer interactions, sales activities, and opportunities in the CRM system (e.g., Salesforce) on a daily basis.
- Ensure the sales funnel and pipeline information is current, allowing for accurate forecasting and account visibility.
- Manage contractual agreements with key customers.
- Monitor contract terms (pricing, volume commitments, service level agreements, etc.) and ensure compliance.
- Work with sales leadership (and other departments, such as Legal or Finance if necessary) to facilitate contract renewals, amendments, or special pricing agreements, keeping both the company’s and the customer’s interests in mind.
- Identify opportunities to improve internal processes or customer service practices.
- Contribute ideas to enhance efficiency, customer satisfaction, or sales effectiveness.
- Take on additional sales support duties or projects as required to support the broader sales team and business objectives.
Special Skills:
- A track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and delivering excellent customer service is highly desirable.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to build rapport and trust with customers over phone and email.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach, ensuring a positive experience for the client at all times.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Hands-on experience with CRM software (e.g. Salesforce)
- Familiarity with ERP or order management systems (such as IFS or similar) is a plus.
- Comfort with technology and ability to quickly learn new software tools is important.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
- Capable of juggling multiple accounts, inquiries, and tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
- Able to prioritize workload to meet deadlines and client expectations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle unexpected challenges or delays calmly and effectively.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision, while also being a collaborative team player.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, remaining adaptable to changing priorities without compromising quality of work or customer service.
- Mathematical and technical aptitude is important.
- Language Skills: Bilingual language skills are an asset. English fluency is required. French bilingual ability is strongly preferred.
Qualifications & Education:
- Education: A college certificate is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
