SUMMARY

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician is accountable to assisting with a full range of maintenance and repairs on all plant equipment and facilities.The Maintenance Technician is responsible to support the Asset Management program focusing on the current active assets used to improve the reliability of our equipment. It is the critical path for effective tank competitiveness - significantly reduces the “variation” that the operators see. Goals is to have zero accidents, zero defects and zero breakdown.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Attend and/or lead DMP Daily Monday to Friday to start with Safety, Breakdown in last 24 hours, Weekly Preventive Maintenance Schedule, Projects. Start with Safety Moment.

• Handle basic repairs and maintenance.

• Directly support Asset Management Program cover 6 key areas (equipment, people, material, method, system, culture) to ensure a robust and successful solution.

• Follow procedure for daily inspection routine of premises and equipment build around reliability techniques, testing, tags process from clean, adjust, inspection, lubricate and calibration.

• Ensure spare parts stocking.

• Oversee contractors when professional repairs are necessary.

• Safely maintains and repairs equipment used during the production of underground storage tanks and accessories.

• Practices preventative maintenance by monitoring all equipment used during production.

• Diagnose mechanical issues and correcting them.

• Repair machines, equipment or structures as necessary.

• Accurately utilizes purchase log, process sheets, and maintenance records.

• Assists with rebuilding and making adjustments on portable tools, heaters, lift trucks, and other equipment and machines as required.

• Assist with the maintenance of the electrical, hydraulic, plumbing, water connections and fittings, compressed air systems, air filters, and all heating and cooling equipment throughout the manufacturing plant.

• Assist with the maintenance or arrange maintenance of fire sprinkler systems, static electricity arresters, and fire doors.

• Other related duties as required.

 

 

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

• Preference will be given to candidates having forklift experience / certification / Fall Protection / Aerial Lift Experience or certification.

• General skills in operating tools and equipment and an understanding of the conditions that may impact their performance.

• General understanding of building and equipment maintenance, mechanical, plumbing, and carpentry work.

• Skilled in performing basic repairs.

• Ability to work from wiring diagrams and equipment manuals for rebuilding equipment and manual repairs.

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to learn new tools and equipment as required for the position.

• Ability to work at heights and within confined spaces when required.

• Physical capabilities include bending, crouching, kneeling, and the ability to stand for extended periods of time.

• Ability to source parts/materials and prepare paperwork for requisitions.

 

ADDITIONAL

  • Good understanding of the English language including verbal, written, and reading skills

  • Ability to work variable hours including shift work
  • Availability to work weekends as needed
  • Valid driver’s license

 

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 1-3 years in manufacturing

 

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
