Maintenance Technician

Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00am-4:00pm including on call duty, and eventually you will be on a rotational nightshift schedule 7:00pm to 3:00am


Summary

As a Maintenance Technician, you play a vital role in keeping Mattr’s Rockwall facility running safely and efficiently. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor and Asset Reliability Manager, you will perform maintenance and repairs across all plant equipment while supporting the company’s Asset Management and Maintenance programs. Your work directly impacts production reliability, equipment uptime, and the overall safety of our manufacturing operations.


Responsibilities

  • Participate in daily DMP meetings, focusing on safety, past breakdowns, preventive maintenance schedules, and active projects.
  • Support the Asset Management Program across equipment, people, materials, methods, systems, and culture to strengthen reliability.
  • Follow daily inspection procedures using reliability-based techniques such as cleaning, adjustments, inspections, lubrication, and calibration.
  • Manage condition-based preventive maintenance and perform equipment testing following refurbishments.
  • Maintain accurate spare parts inventory and organize the maintenance shop according to asset management workflow.
  • Lead refurbishment activities and coordinate with equipment suppliers as needed.
  • Repair and maintain production equipment used for manufacturing underground storage tanks and accessories.
  • Perform preventive maintenance by monitoring all equipment throughout production.
  • Utilize CMMS, process sheets, and maintenance documentation accurately.
  • Assist in rebuilding and adjusting portable tools, heaters, and various plant machinery.
  • Support maintenance activities across electrical, hydraulic, plumbing, compressed air, water connections, HVAC, and related systems.
  • Assist with or arrange maintenance for fire sprinkler systems, static electricity arresters, and fire doors.
  • Perform other related maintenance duties as required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Preferred: forklift experience/certification, Fall Protection, and Aerial Lift experience or certification.
  • General proficiency in operating tools and equipment and understanding factors affecting their performance.
  • Foundational knowledge of building and equipment maintenance including mechanical, plumbing, and carpentry.
  • Ability to perform basic repairs and follow wiring diagrams and equipment manuals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal, written, and reading comprehension in English.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn new tools and equipment as required.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Flexibility to work variable hours, including shift work and weekends as needed.
  • Physical ability to bend, crouch, kneel, and stand for long periods.
  • Ability to source parts/materials and complete requisition paperwork.
