Summary

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for driving profitable sales growth throughout the assigned US Southeast region by developing end-user demand and executing effective channel management strategies. This role plays a critical part in expanding the Shawflex market presence by collaborating with customers, distributors, engineering teams, customer service, operations, marketing, and accounting to achieve business objectives and deliver sustainable growth.

 

Responsibilities

 

Drive Regional Sales Growth

  • Generate demand and secure product specifications by developing relationships with end users, EPCs, and contractors.
  • Conduct customer meetings, site visits, and technical presentations to engineering stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans aligned with business objectives.
  • Manage assigned customer accounts and identify opportunities for profitable growth.

 

Channel & Distribution Management

  • Develop and manage distribution strategies that effectively capture end-user demand throughout the region.
  • Provide distributor training and support through joint customer visits and coordinated account management activities.
  • Collaborate with Inside Sales Representatives to maximize sales performance.
  • Support and manage sales agents where applicable. 

 

Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders through regular customer visits and ongoing communication.
  • Maintain detailed customer profiles and provide regular account activity and status updates.
  • Assist in preparing customer quotations while ensuring alignment with financial objectives and approval processes. 

 

Market Intelligence & Business Development

  • Gather and share information regarding new product opportunities, competitive activity, market trends, and emerging industry developments.
  • Represent Shawflex at industry events, trade shows, networking functions, and committee activities.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and interactions within the company CRM platform.

 

Education/Experience

  • University degree required.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant sales experience. 

 

Professional Qualifications

  • Proven technical sales experience with a consultative selling approach.
  • Strong strategic problem-solving and account management abilities.
  • Experience working within distribution channels and representative sales models.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience within the electrical industry, particularly the utility sector, is considered an asset.
  • Ability to identify and engage key decision-makers and influencers within customer organizations.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently throughout the assigned territory (approximately 60% travel).

The territory for this role will include the Southeastern United States, covering a region that spans from Texas to South Carolina. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting customers and business development activities throughout this territory and should be comfortable with travel as required to effectively manage the region.
