POSITION SUMMARY:
The Design Support Team is an integral part of the Xerxes commercial team, working with customers to create sales drawings for bespoke underground storage tanks.  The candidate will complete 3D modeling, 2D drafting, standards interpretation, coordination of design requirements with customers, and be comfortable with industry specific calculations. Their skillset, experience and interest should include mechanical design, technical problem solving, and a desire to support a world class customer experience. As a early point of contact with customers the Design Support Team plays a crucial role in the market perception of Xerxes. As a company which priorities customer experience the Design Support Team is focused on executing customer requests, accurately, on time, with a focus on first time quality, and with great communication. While this role is reporting to the Fuel Design, Team Lead, it is anticipated that time will be split roughly 50/50 between Fuel and Water design. 

 

DUTIES:

  • Create technical sales drawings for bespoke underground storage tanks using SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Cross-train on both Fuel and Water product lines. Team members are expected to support the checking and approval of one another’s work using drawing review checklists, and ensure all document management process are followed.
  • Interpret site-specific customer requirements and apply relevant regulatory standards to ensure the tank design meets customer specifications. This requires a solid understanding of requirements gathering and the interpretation of technical documentation. 
  • Identify and lead efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives focused on first-time quality, process documentation, productivity, and automation.
  • Apply strong organisational and customer relationship skills to work independently and collaboratively with the Design Support and Sales teams. Prioritise tasks to ensure customer expectations for sales drawings are met. Communicate effectively with internal teams and external customers to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and awareness.

   

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 1 to 3 years experience as mechanical designer, creating 3D Modeling, or Product Designs. 
  • Strong experience with AutoCAD, Solidworks or 3D design - must.
  • Working knowledge with Microsoft Teams, Sharepoint, Excel, Outlook and Word - must. 
  • Experience withing Fiberglass composites manufacturing - preferred.
  • Mechanical Engineering education - preferred.
  • Professional registration with a regional or national body for Engineering and Design Technicians, Technologists or Engineers- preferred.
  • Experience with IFS, ERP system- preferred.
  • Strong communication and customer service experience.
  • Fluent in English - must.
