Summary

Lead the design, execution, and continuous improvement of quality systems that ensure products and services consistently meet customer expectations, engineering specifications, and regulatory standards. This role drives supplier performance, resolves non-conformances, and delivers measurable improvements through data-driven quality initiatives. You will influence a culture of operational excellence and safety, while partnering cross-functionally to strengthen quality outcomes across DSG-CANUSA.
 
Responsibilities
 
Leadership and Quality Engineering
  • Develop, implement, and manage the site quality plan to align with strategic objectives and performance goals.
  • Mentor, coach, and support quality team members, ensuring effective development and execution of responsibilities.
  • Partner with leadership to define quality strategies, future initiatives, and support QMS implementation.
  • Lead quality-related investigations using structured methodologies (8D, A3, 5 Whys) through root cause identification and corrective action implementation.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to create inspection instructions, SOPs, visual standards, and process documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean tools, VSM, and SPC methods.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE standards and promote a culture of safe work practices.
  • Manage corrective action systems (SCAR, NCR, CC) to ensure timely resolution and effective closure.
  • Support supplier audits, evaluations, and performance improvements aligned with SQA objectives.
  • Lead development and implementation of quality tools, including SPC, FMEA, and R&D lifecycle processes.
  • Oversee document control systems and corrective/preventative action processes.
  • Support UL certification activities and audits.
  • Provide guidance and training on ERP-related quality processes and systems.
  • Participate in training programs to enhance organizational quality capabilities.
  • Maintain compliance and control of measurement equipment.
Quality Execution
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for site-level quality issues and ensure timely resolution.
  • Conduct internal audits to verify QMS compliance, document findings, and follow through on corrective actions.
  • Implement process controls, SPC plans, and Lean/Six Sigma practices to maintain product quality.
  • Deliver training on QMS standards and quality processes.
  • Support material testing, analysis, and validation of results.
  • Monitor and report on quality metrics, scorecards, and key performance indicators.
  • Ensure adherence to all operational and quality processes.
Project Support
  • Collaborate across departments through cross-functional teams and meetings to support project goals.
  • Deliver technical quality training and guidance to various departments.
  • Perform specialized inspections and testing as required.
  • Provide quality expertise in defining project success metrics and execution plans.
  • Support additional responsibilities as assigned.
Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE)
  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment aligned with corporate safety policies.
  • Lead by example in fostering a culture of safety and incident prevention.
  • Mentor and hold team members accountable to safety standards and expectations.
Qualifications
  • University degree preferred.
  • 7–10 years of relevant experience in quality engineering or quality systems management.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Quality Analyst (CQA) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) are preferred.
