Summary 

The Process Engineer I plays a key role in supporting continuous improvement initiatives and product process development activities at the Fairfield facility. In this role, you will apply your process engineering expertise to enhance manufacturing performance, support production operations, and develop innovative process solutions that drive efficiency, reduce costs, improve product margins, and strengthen business competitiveness. You will collaborate closely with production, maintenance, engineering, quality, and safety teams to deliver world-class process improvements and support operational excellence.  

Responsibilities 

Support Production Operations 

  • Provide technical support for daily manufacturing operations and live production activities. 

  • Partner with supervisors, operators, and maintenance personnel to ensure equipment and production processes operate efficiently and reliably. 

  • Support tooling selection and validation activities. 

  • Apply effective troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques to resolve production challenges and improve operational performance.  

Drive Process Improvement 

  • Develop, document, and execute process improvement and process development projects. 

  • Identify opportunities to increase production efficiency, reduce cost variances, improve product margins, and enhance quote competitiveness. 

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.  

Provide Process Engineering Expertise 

  • Support product engineering, product development, product management, and quality control teams in the development and launch of new products. 

  • Maintain alignment with company quality standards while supporting customer requirements. 

  • Utilize data-driven problem-solving methodologies and CAD tools to analyze processes and implement improvements.  

Support Technical Knowledge Development 

  • Assist with peer training and mentorship activities to build and maintain embedded technical knowledge within the organization. 

  • Contribute to the development of team capabilities and operational expertise.  

Promote Environmental Health & Safety 

  • Support Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) initiatives. 

  • Contribute to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment while supporting continuous improvement efforts.  

Qualifications: 

Required Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.  

Required Experience 

  • 1 to 3 years of relevant professional experience.  

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience coordinating and managing projects. 

  • Proficiency with CAD software and engineering design tools. 

  • Experience with manufacturing systems and process improvement methodologies. 

  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques, including process mapping, root cause analysis, 8D, A3, 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, Design of Experiments (DOE), and capability studies. 

  • Experience working with quality management systems such as ISO and IATF, including control plans and PFMEAs. 

  • Manufacturing experience in a production environment.
