Position Summary:

 

The Maintenance technician will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, calibrating, modifying, and testing mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment. This position will be required to assist process engineering in resolving mechanical-related problems while working in a team environment. 

 

Duties & Responsibilites:

 

  • Responsible for the installation, trouble shooting, modification, repair, testing, configuration, commissioning, and maintenance of all mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical plant manufacturing equipment.
  • Understand CMMS programs to conduct preventative maintenance inspections and related repairs on plant equipment as directed.
  • Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect potential failures and eliminate unplanned downtime.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electromechanical production equipment.
  • Understand, observe, and comply with company’s health and safety rules & regulations, lockout procedures and OSHA guidelines.
  • Complete daily maintenance work orders in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Actively participate and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices in work area using the 5S principles.
  • As required, provide training to new and/or junior employees with a focus on performing work in a safe, efficient, quality minded manner.
  • Ensure full adherence to the “Leader Standard Work” profile.
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) -relevant measures to promote an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) workspace.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

 

Knowledge & Skills:

 

  • Standing for sustained periods of time.
  • Making substantial movements/motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Frequently lifting and/or moving spools weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasionally required to sit; climb and stoop, kneel or crouch.

 

Education & Experience:

 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Industrial Mechanic / Millwright Certificate of Qualification preferred.
  • Welding Certificate or completion of training preferred.
