Summary
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate machines within the Conversion department to meet customer specifications.
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality and productivity.
- Position, adjust, and feed materials manually to complete production orders.
- Read and interpret work orders to determine product specifications and material requirements.
- Identify equipment issues, notify supervision of malfunctions, and collaborate with maintenance teams when repairs are required.
- Operate heavy wall, thin wall, printing, CPC, auto bagger, and end cap work cells.
- Support operational needs by working across additional Conversion areas, including Brady Spooling operations, based on workload demands.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Contribute to Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) programs that support an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) workplace.
- Follow established Leader Standard Work requirements and operate equipment safely and effectively.
- Train new and junior team members on standard operating procedures, safe work practices, and product quality standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to read gauges, perform measurements, and compare results against specifications.
- Proficiency with computer systems and production data entry.
- Strong manual dexterity with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
- Effective verbal communication and active listening skills.
- Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to inspect materials for quality compliance.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance procedures, and work documentation.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to perform repetitive hand, wrist, and finger movements.
- Ability to frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to occasionally sit, climb, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
