Summary

The Process Engineer plays a key role in advancing AmerCable’s manufacturing performance by improving production efficiency, product quality, and process safety. This role drives operational excellence by developing standardized processes, optimizing production workflows, and supporting cross-functional teams with technical expertise. Through continuous improvement and adherence to safety and quality standards, the Process Engineer ensures reliable performance across complex cable manufacturing operations in demanding environments.
 
 
Responsibilities:

Process Optimization & Technical Support

  • Develop and implement best practices, routines, and innovative solutions to improve production rates and product quality.
  • Provide technical process engineering support to production teams to enhance operational efficiency, process safety, and environmental performance.
  • Identify current and potential production issues and communicate findings to Department Managers and leadership.
  • Support project engineers in estimating resource requirements for new and existing products.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Create, maintain, and update process documentation and operating instructions with a strong emphasis on safety.
  • Develop and maintain a robust quality manual in compliance with API standards.
  • Ensure all processes align with AmerCable’s safety standards and safe work practices.
  • Adhere to the AmerCable Code of Ethics and Business Conduct standards.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Develop and track KPIs for each production area to monitor and control inefficiencies.
  • Prepare detailed reports based on process findings and present results to peers and management.
  • Report any issues impacting costs, schedules, employees, or customers to leadership in a timely manner.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in design reviews as required by management.
  • Stay current with competitive intelligence, new products, market trends, and supporting technologies.
  • Collaborate across teams to support continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
