AmerCable is an ISO 9001-certified manufacturer of jacketed electrical power, control and instrumentation cables. The company's core markets, mining, oil and gas, and industrial, require complex cable designs that can operate reliably over long periods of time in harsh operating environments. At this time, we are looking for a Materials Handler-Receiving Operator to join our AmerCable Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate Mobile Equipment used to handle materials in the department.
  • Transportation of product and materials to specific locations and equipment using proper procedures.
  • Unloading incoming materials from vendors and loading reject material using proper receiving and shipping procedures
  • Operator and maintain receiving equipment.
  • Complete required documentation for forklift inspections, inventory returns, inventory moves, incoming weight comparisons, compound usage reports and raw material inventory reports.
  • Follow procedural guide lines handling and processing materials
  • Assist all other Team member as needed to increase efficiency.
  • Operate the machines according to machine work instructions/SOP
  • Produce product “on time” per current work schedule
  • Comply with all safety rules at all times 
  • Follow all housekeeping practices 
  • Adheres to all AmerCable’s Safety Standards and Safe Work Practices
  • Follows and abides by AmerCable’s Code of Ethics and Business Conduct Standards

 

Preferred skills and qualifications:

  • Must be able to work in a non-climate controlled environment
  • Must be able to physically move material, possibly up to 75 lbs. 
  • Good reading comprehension is required.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to work extended hours as needed, including weekends and holidays. 
  • Must have basic mechanical abilities.
  • Must be able to operate mobile equipment and computer systems
  • Required training includes ISO 9000 principles
