Impact of this Role
What Success Looks Like
- Maintain plant and office electrical systems and support the installation of electrical control systems.
- Install, examine, replace, and repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, and other electrical components.
- Maintain, repair, test, and install AC and DC motors, generators, and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial electrical and electronic control systems and related devices.
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine the layout of industrial electrical installations.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Install, maintain, and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices as required.
- Install wiring and circuits in compliance with the National Electrical Code.
- Maintain low-pressure (125 PSI) and high-pressure (250 PSI) boilers as the sole operator during off-shift rotations.
- Identify and participate in resolving workplace hazards while complying with safety procedures and regulations.
- Support opportunities to reduce environmental impacts through waste reduction, recycling, and reducing pollution of air, water, soil, and resources.
- Support other Plant Engineering activities and perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring to the Role
- At least two years of industrial electrical maintenance experience or related technical education.
- Journeyman electrician license or industrial electrician license.
- Ability to read and use blueprints, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Ability to troubleshoot relay logic, AC and DC motors and drives, and other electrical components.
- Ability to obtain a state boiler license.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and good reading comprehension.
- Ability to work extended hours as needed, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment, at heights above ground level, and in small or tight spaces.
- Ability to operate a forklift.
- Ability to physically move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
