At this time, we are looking for a Electrical Test Apprentice Operator to join our AmerCable Team.
Responsibilities:
- Comply with all safety procedures and regulations; Identify and participate in resolution of workplace hazards; Support an interdependency safety culture.
- Support and seek opportunities to reduce environmental impacts through waste reductions, recycling and reduction of pollution of air, water, soil and resources.
- Is responsible to stage reels in test bay
- Is responsible to open cable ends
- Is responsible to prepare conductors for testing
- Is responsible to secure test ends of cable for transport to next operation
- Is responsible to keep a clean working environment
- Support testing by entering completed test data in the Electrical Test Database
- Is responsible to deliver tested products to the next process of operation
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Comply with AmerCable 5S standards at all times
- Adheres to all AmerCable Safety Standards and Safe Work Practices
- Follows and abides by Mattr Code of Ethics and Business Conduct Standards
Preferred skills and qualifications:
- Ability to effectively communicate with other employees, both verbally and in writing, is required
- Good reading comprehension and basic math skills are required
- Ability to work extended hours as needed, including weekends and holidays, is required
- Must be able to work in a non-climate controlled environment
- Must be able to operate a forklift
- Must pass AmerCable lift truck operator safety course
- High school diploma or GED is required
- Must be able to operate a work station computer
- Must be able to physically move material, possibly up to 50 lbs
