Summary
As a Design Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate product design data, costing, and system integrity across the facility. This role directly supports production, planning, sales, and engineering by managing product designs, maintaining ERP system accuracy, and driving efficient execution of manufacturing processes. Your work will enable timely quoting, seamless order processing, and reliable product data that supports both existing and new product development.
Responsibilities

Maintain and manage product design data, including entering new designs and updating existing designs, costs, and drawings

Enter and revise Bills of Materials (BOMs), routers, and item master templates within the Oracle ERP system

Support ERP system functionality across the facility and ensure system updates are accurate and up to date

Provide design, costing, drawings, and manufacturing orders (MTOs) to support Customer Service, Sales, and Engineering teams

Coordinate with Planning, Production, Sales, and Accounting to ensure accurate product costing, quoting, and design information

Facilitate and monitor the new order manufacturing process (MTO)

Collaborate with Planning and Process Engineering to establish alternate resources and routing as required
Qualifications
Education & Experience
-
High school diploma required; college certificate (2-year program) preferred

Less than 1 year of experience required; 3–5 years preferred
Required Skills

Strong mathematical and computer skills

Ability to read, interpret, and apply cable industry specifications

High attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams
Preferred Skills

Experience in wire and cable manufacturing

Basic knowledge of AutoCAD

Strong written and verbal communication skills
