Summary
The HR Business Partner plays a critical role in translating business objectives into effective people strategies that strengthen engagement, performance, and operational success across an assigned client portfolio. Acting as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, this role delivers practical, people‑focused HR solutions within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. The HRBP partners closely with plant management and business leaders while providing hands‑on support to hourly production employees, ensuring consistent employee experiences, strong labour relations, and a culture rooted in safety and accountability.
Responsibilities
- Lead employee relations activities, including workplace investigations and whistleblower complaints, providing clear reporting and actionable recommendations on policy interpretation, employment legislation, and risk mitigation
- Facilitate employee onboarding programs, strengthen engagement and culture, and ensure responsive, consistent HR support while promoting health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices
- Drive the rollout and execution of HR programs and annual cycles, including performance management, compensation, bonus, and engagement initiatives, while updating and administering HR policies as required. Facilitates and delivers presentations on HR programs, policies, and people initiatives to stakeholders across the organization
- Partner strategically with leaders to support business objectives, proactively identifying risks, gaps, and opportunities that impact organizational performance and results
- Promote and reinforce a safety‑first culture by actively supporting HSE priorities within the manufacturing environment
Qualifications
- Education: Degree in Business, Human Resources, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Community college education is considered an asset
- Experience: 5 years of progressive HR experience, ideally within a manufacturing or operational environment
- Professional Background: Experience supporting employee relations, HR programs, and leadership teams; exposure to a unionized environment is considered an asset
- Language Skills: Bilingual French/English preferred; additional languages such as Spanish are considered an asset
- Work Requirements: Ability to work in a hybrid environment with regular time on the plant floor and willingness to travel approximately 10%
