  • 3 Week Temporary Position May 05 to May 26, 2025
  • Hours of work 40 hours per week, 5 days per week, 8 hrs per day, Monday to Friday 7:00AM-3:30PM
  • Hourly rate $50.06/hr.

Position
Reporting to the Production Manager, Crane Operator is responsible for shipping, receiving, and storage of product materials and supplies. The Crane Operator loads tanks for testing, loads tanks for shipping, and organizes and cleans stockyard area as required. 

 

Duties
•    Locates and prepares accessories, material and supplies required for shipment from shop order documents, shipping papers and verbal instruction.  
•    Plans approach to loading and unloading of tanks for shipping and storage to maximize available space and minimize material expense and risk of damage in shipment. 
•    Delivers materials and supplies to the proper area for storage or use and inform personnel responsible for the area it is delivered. 
•    Transports completed product from production areas to storage and/or prepare for shipment. 
•    Loads completed product, materials and supplies on various modes of transportation and secure properly. 
•    Communicates frequently with cross-functional areas. 
•    Maintains equipment and work area, ensuring neat, clean, and free of debris. 
•    Additional duties as required. 

 

Required Qualifications
•    Alberta Journeyman Crane Certification is required 
•    Valid CDL driver’s license 
•    Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; suitable experience may be considered in lieu of the education requirement 
•    Minimum 1 year forklift and crane operations experience, preferably in manufacturing or industrial environment 
•    Alberta Journeyman Crane Certification 
•    Experience with a zoom boom, knuckle boom, skid steer, and scissor lift an asset 
•    Good understanding of Occupational Health and Safety legislation regarding crane operations 
•    Ability to follow directions and adhere to all policies and procedures 
•    Ability to read and follow blueprints and drawings is an asset 
•    Good understanding of the English language including verbal, written, and reading skills is preferred 
•    Ability to perform mathematical calculations 
•    Physical capabilities include bending, crouching, kneeling, and the ability to stand for extended periods of time
