Hours of work:
Your will be on a rotating work schedule, of twelve (12) hours per shift, for a total of 84 hours of work bi-weekly. You will work a Continental shift schedule of two weeks, which includes two (2) weeks of the day shifts (7am – 7pm) and two (2) weeks of night shifts (7pm – 7am).
*This position will require a preemployment physical fitness as well as a drug and alcohol test
Shift Premium:
You are eligible for a shift premium of $2.50 per hour, applicable to hours worked on the Night (7pm-7am) shift only.
The Opportunity
Mattr is seeking a Production Operator to support our manufacturing facility located in Calgary, AB (3501 54 Avenue SE). Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Production Operator will be responsible for safely operating production machinery and using tools on the production floor.
Duties & Accountabilities
- Set up, run and shutdown manufacturing equipment
- Monitor product quality followed with appropriate responses
- Record manufacturing data. Use of database and reporting systems
- Able to understand manufacturing production schedule
- Follow 5S rules to meet Mattr Performance Goals
- Conduct all work safely while following the Mattr Safety program, procedures, and policies
- Verifying raw materials prior to use and throughout the manufacturing process
- Operate forklifts, manufacturing equipment, hand tools, and power tools
- Standing for long periods of time
- Repetitive tasks, lifting up to 50lbs
- Perform operator preventative maintenance
- Supporting and mentoring other Operators
- Understand procedures, processes, equipment and product
- Accept guidance, leadership, and supervision to achieve company goals
- Promote a positive atmosphere within the company
- Maintain a clean and organized workplace
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
- Basic computer skills
- Comfortable working in a plant environment
- Willing to work rotating shift work 2 weeks daytime & 2 weeks night time 12 hour shifts Monday to Thursday
- 1-2 years previous manufacturing experience (preferred)
- Knowledge of power tools
- Able to work at heights and confined spaces when required
- Ability to meet physical requirements including lifting up to 20-50 lbs., bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time
- Good work ethic and attitude
- Good mechanical aptitude
