Business Development Manager, Water Markets

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Business Development Manager, Water, will will be responsible for driving specifications the Xerxes Water (HydroChain adn Water Tanks) by identifying new business opportunities, fostering long-term relationships with specifying engineers, and positioning Xerxes as a leader in underground storage solutions. The BDM will work closely with sales, marketing, and leadership teams to achieve business objectives. The territory will include GA, NC, SC, and TN.
DUTIES:
- Business Development - The position is responsible for generating new business opportunities (specifications), project conversions, gaining product approval with agencies and engineers. This includes daily calls with local engineering firms, design consultants, municipalities, developers, and regulators to generate new Xerxes Water specifications. The successful candidate must have the ability to provide educational training to the engineering community through face to face calls, lunch and learns, and other promotional activities.
- Sales - The position is responsibility for supporting the sales team in the successful sale of Xerxes Water products in the assigned territory. This includes colaborating with sales on project specifications as they progress through the sales pipeline (to be tracked and maintained in the CRM), as well as assisting at the engineering level with acceptance of project conversions.
- The position is responsible for participating in strategic planning. This includes the monitoring of market trends and competition to identify opportunities and threats. It also includes preparing and executing on a territory growth plan and participating in monthly sales forecasting.
- Business Travel - The position is responsible for business development in a large geographic territory, which will require frequent overnight travel.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Holding a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 3-5 years of previous related experience, preferably 5 to 7 years.
- Excellent verbal and writing communication skills.
- Proven sales record and solid technical background.
- Strategy and business planning skills.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite.
- Expected US travel: > 50%
- Expected Canada travel 1 – 2 times a year
