JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the VP, Human Resources, Composite Technologies (Mattr), the Manager, Technical Training Manufacturing is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing technical training programs to support the skill development and performance of manufacturing personnel. This position is responsible for building a robust training framework that ensures employees possess the technical knowledge, skills, and competencies to meet and exceed productivity, quality, and safety standards in accordance with internal SOPs and external regulatory requirements. This includes frontline operators, technicians, and maintenance staff across multiple shifts and facilities.  The incumbent will collaborate closely with manufacturing leadership, subject matter experts (incl. HSE and Quality), and human resources to design, implement, and continuously improve training strategies that support business objectives and drive operational excellence.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Lead the design, development, and delivery of technical training programs related to manufacturing processes, equipment operation, quality systems, safety, and maintenance
•    Partner with manufacturing leadership, engineering, quality, and HR to assess training needs and develop tailored learning solutions that address process changes, new equipment, updated technologies, and regulatory requirements
•    Oversee the onboarding and upskilling process for new hires, including hands-on training, SOP reviews, and qualification assessments
•    Develop and maintain training documentation, including training matrices, SOP training records, competency assessments, and certification tracking
•    Implement and manage a robust Learning Management System (LMS) to ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting
•    Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness through key performance indicators (KPIs), employee feedback, competency assessments, error reduction, and audit outcomes
•    Support regulatory and customer audits by providing training documentation and demonstrating compliance with training standards
•    Manage and mentor a team of training specialists, facilitators, or technical trainers
•    Stay current on industry best practices and innovations in technical training and adult learning methodologies
•    Champion a culture of safety, quality, and continuous learning throughout the manufacturing organization


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
•    Bachelor’s degree: Engineering, Industrial Technology, Education, or a related field
•    Minimum of 7 years’ experience in manufacturing environments, with at least 3 years in training, technical education, or leadership roles
•    Experience designing and delivering technical training programs for manufacturing processes, equipment, and safety standards
•    Strong knowledge of manufacturing systems, lean methodologies, and process improvement tools (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen, TPM)
•    Demonstrated ability to manage teams and develop others through coaching and mentoring
•    Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills; ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
•    Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning development tools
•    Strong project management and organizational skills; able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

SKILLS AND CORE COMPETENCIES
•    Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and hands-on training methods
•    Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other operational excellence frameworks
•    Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage training programs across shifts and departments.
•    Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
•    Proficiency with training systems (LMS), MS Office Suite, and e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Captivate) is a plus
•    Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment while maintaining focus on compliance and quality
•    Leadership: Inspires, motivates, and leads teams through change; builds consensus and drives engagement
•    Technical Acumen: Possesses deep understanding of manufacturing operations and emerging technologies
•    Analytical Thinking: Assesses data, training outcomes, and operational needs to make informed decisions
•    Change Management: Guides individuals and teams through transitions in process, technology, and organizational structure


WORKING CONDITIONS
•    Hybrid with the expectation to work in a manufacturing environment, including time spent on the production floor as required
•    Require standing, walking, interacting with equipment and personnel in production areas or observing production processes for extended periods
•    Occasional travel to other manufacturing sites or for professional development may be necessary
