POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Production Manager, the technician is accountable for a full range of maintenance and repairs on all plant equipment and facilities.

 

DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Performs Required and Preventative Maintenance
  • Safely maintains and repairs equipment used during the production of underground storage tanks and accessories
  • Monitoring all equipment used during production
  • Routine maintenance on machinery, including lubrication, cleaning, and filter changes.
  • Diagnosing mechanical issues through observation and testing, using diagnostic equipment.
  • Repairing or replacing defective machine parts using hand tools, machining tools
  • Performing installation and setup of new equipment as necessary.
  • Maintaining compressed air systems.
  • Completing fabrication projects from drawings1
  • Assemble, install, and maintain industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Test, inspect, and adjust equipment to ensure proper and safe operation.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • Order parts and supplies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate repair and maintenance logs by using company Work Order process system ( Upkeep)
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Test, inspect, and adjust equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • Assemble, install, and maintain industrial machinery and equipment.

 

 

 

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

 

· Grade 12 diploma or equivalent required

· 3-5  years of relevant Industrial Maintenance experience required

· Valid driver’s license

· Preference will be given to candidates having forklift experience / certification / Fall Protection / Aerial Lift Experience or certification

· General skills in operating tools and equipment and an understanding of the conditions that may impact their performance

· General understanding of building and equipment maintenance, mechanical, plumbing, and carpentry work

· Skilled in performing basic repairs

· Ability to work from wiring diagrams and equipment manuals for rebuilding equipment and manual repairs

· Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail

· Good understanding of the English language including verbal, written, and reading skills

· Ability to communicate effectively with others and work as part of a team

· Ability to learn new tools and equipment as required for the position

· Ability to work at heights and within confined spaces when required

· Ability to work variable hours including shift work

· Physical capabilities include bending, crouching, kneeling, and the ability to stand for extended periods of time

· Availability to work weekends as needed
